So it’s not fake - I have a SRPC97 myself. This video of the smaller version, the SRP843, that I shot in the SEIKO Boutique in London shows that it doesn’t have a traditional 6-digit serial number either. Where to find seiko model number how to#
For information about how this actually decodes and how to decode a Seiko serial yourself click here (also has a video showing how to find your serial number and movement). For details of my Seiko movements list click here. If you look at photos or videos of this specific model, like this official press one from SEIKO (of the power reserve version, SSA385, but it looks the same apart from the movement number and case code), or this photo, you would see that it’s the same as yours, and does not have a standard 6-digit serial number like for example the standard, non-Limited Edition Cocktail Times or other Seiko watches. If more than one date is returned then either I lack data for that Seiko movement or it was made for over a decade. They just have the number it is out of the limit of 7,000 pieces, and this is enough for Seiko to identify the watch along with the model number and case code (4R35-03C0). Some Limited Editions like this don’t have a normal 6-digit serial number which encodes the date of production like other Seiko watches.
